Definition
A DAC (Drive-A-Check) report, now called HireRight Employment History Report, is a database of driver employment records maintained by HireRight. When a driver leaves a carrier, that carrier reports the employment dates, positions, and sometimes the reason for separation. Many carriers check DAC reports before hiring. Drivers can dispute inaccurate information. Some drivers are wary of DAC because former employers occasionally report unfavorable information.
